Wednesday 100 · Reading Room

Keep the hot takes warm.

The live session lasts one hour. The useful part can keep working for the two weeks before the book club meets again.

The live rhythm

Fifteen. Forty. Five.

15 minutes

Revisit the parked hot takes from the previous book-club episode, two weeks earlier.

40 minutes

Read along at the agreed scope and talk with the live YouTube chat.

5 minutes

Close with one reflection, name the next reading, and park today’s hot takes for the next book-club Wednesday.

No stream scheduled?

Use a 20-minute solo reading room.

5 minutes · ReturnRead your last note before you reopen the book.
10 minutes · ReadStay with one short section. Mark what creates energy or resistance.
5 minutes · DecideWrite one question and one action the reading makes newly available.
Keep it lightA short honest note is more useful than a perfect summary you never write.

The hot-take parking lot

Bring something the room can work with.

01

Claim

Write one sentence you believe the author is asking you to accept.

02

Evidence

Name the page, scene, or idea that made the claim feel true or incomplete.

03

Tension

Record what you resisted, questioned, or changed your mind about.

04

Question

Bring one question that could open the chat instead of closing the argument.

Read together responsibly

The conversation never outranks the author’s rights.

How the live format works

Public-domain or explicitly licensed works may be read aloud within the documented permission. Contemporary books use silent co-reading from copies each participant is authorized to use, with only brief discussion excerpts. The event page will name the reading scope before anyone joins.
